Need
The need for father involvement is at an all time high. Since 1960, the proportion
of children living in single parent homes has tripled from 9 percent to 27 percent.
We have seen the problems in the previous generations of father absence. Children
have grown up without models of fathers and therefore are lacking in the skills
needed to succeed as fathers. Boys without involved fathers lack the knowledge
of how fathers are to interact and treat their spouses and children. Girls without
involved fathers lack the knowledge of how a man should treat a woman.
The need in rural Nebraska is below that of the National Average, but is still
growing. We want to stop this problem before it grows out of hand. Check out
