Kearney, NE – Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska (Mid) is the recipient of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds allocated through Federal Community Services Block Grant Funds. With a strong emphasis on employment, Mid is using a portion of the allocation to open a temporary Job Placement Services office in Kearney. The office will be staffed by Job Placement Coordinators who were previous employees of the Workforce Development office that closed in Kearney last year. The office will be located at 321 Central Avenue in Kearney and be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday beginning September 28, 2009. The Job Placement Services program will assist individuals with services such as resume writing, interview skills, finding employment, filing for unemployment, and have a computer lab available. The program will also assist businesses with filling vacancies.
