R.Y.D.E. Success Story:
*Jan, an elderly woman living alone, began using R.Y.D.E. for transportation to her chemotherapy treatments following a lumpectomy. Jan could not drive herself to and from treatment due to the effects of her medications. She said, "Without this service I would have had to move from my home to live with relatives in Omaha. Your drivers were compassionate and caring. One day, after a very bad bout of nausea, the driver even sat beside me in the van and held me while I cried. You have a wonderful service."

Transportation Success Story:
*John began utilizing the Mid-Nebraska transportation system when he moved to a rehabilitation facility in town. John is described as a quiet person, perhaps a bit "gruff looking." As a result of scheduling similarities, he and two other local gentlemen often rode the Mid bus together. Over time, John got to know his fellow passengers and started to interact with them more often. A couple of days before Christmas, the bus driver shared this story about John and his new friends..
"I picked up the guys and then I picked up John. When John got on board, one of the guys handed him a Christmas card. John was dead quiet. When I looked over at him, I could see that he was crying. I didn't say anything, just drove him out to work. When I dropped him off, he mentioned form me to step off the bus. I got out and walked up to John. He said, 'I am 40 years old and this is the first Christmas card that anyone has ever given me. I hope I never have to quit riding this bus.'"
Over time, John has been quite an advocate for the Mid-Nebraska transit system and due to his involvement, we have added two new riders to the system.
