The Lincoln County Senior Services Center officially opened its doors for service to the community in December of 1979. The Center's mission at that time was to provide a gathering place for North Platte's senior citizens. Since that time, the scope of the Center's mission hOutside of the North Platte Senior Centeras increased to include quality of life activities, such as, seminars on health issues, financial and legal help topics, bingo, dancing, table pool, shuffleboard, card clubs and blood pressure screenings.

The North Platte Senior Center provides: freedom, dignity, independence for older population of North Platte and Lincoln County. The Senior Center is the community focal point where older adults come together for services and activities that reflect their experience and skills; respond to their diverse needs and interests: enhance their dignity: support their independence and encourage their involvement in and with the center and community.

The North Platte Senior Center provides fun and healthy activities for North Platte's Senior Citizens, age 60 or older.

Senior Center operating hours is 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. Monday thru Friday

A monthly newsletter is published.

Monthly lunch menus are posted in the newsletter, the North Platte Telegraph as well as being broadcast through local radio stations.

Rooms are available to rent for your special events.

North Platte Senior Center is sponsored in part by West Central Nebraska Area Agency on Aging, City of North Platte, United Way, and with matching funds from Meal contributions, public bingo and special fundraising events, along with personal donations, special gifts and memorials.

Nutritious noon meals are served Monday thru Friday at a suggested donation rate of $3.00 for persons 60 and over. Persons under the age of 60 are welcome to come any day and are charged a set price of $4.00 per person. Guest is asked to call for lunch reservations by 10:00 A.M. each day.

Home Delivered Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday at a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal. Must be homebound or handicapped, age 60 or over, Doctors orders will be obtained by the Senior Center. Frozen meals are available for the weekend if needed. All fewer than 60 participants will be charged $4.00 for their meals.

The Minden Senior Center provides noon meals 5 days per week Monday – Friday. Suggested donation rate of $3.00 for persons 60 and over. Persons under the age of 60 are welcome to attend at a set price of $4.00. Guests are asked to call for lunch reservation 24 hours in advance.

The Center provides educational programs plus hearing and foot care sessions, and blood pressure clinics.

Entertainment includes: TV, travelogues, music events, cards, pool, quilting, puzzles, special events.
